The Contest

I had grown used to the uncertainty, that God does play dice, that my cat was indeterminate, that the slit I had passed through led me to this universe, at this time, and not to the infinite parallel possibilities. Then something very strange happened to me. I stared for a long time at a contest announcement that changed my thinking forever. It told me that some choices not only could be binary but must be binary. Should I enter this contest? There are only two possibilities: yes or no. Whether I entered or not, my choice had meaning in its clarity. I felt the wave function collapse as I hit send and ended up here, as I was before, but finally on solid ground.
